HERE

Yesterday, the SJPOA participated in a press conference with the San Francisco Police Officers’ Association, the Los Angeles Police Protective League and the United Coalition Of Public Safety (UCOPS), the national coalition of law enforcement unions that we helped found to call for A.G. Barr to prosecute Jamaica Hampton, the criminal suspect who violently attacked two San Francisco Police Officers.

SJPOA Boardmembers Steve Slack, Jose Martinez, Catherine Alvarez, and Greg Connolly stood with the SFPOA, LAPPL and UCOPS to deliver our message. Steve did an excellent job representing us.

Additionally, I submitted this letter to A.G. Barr on behalf of UCOPS requesting his involvement in the case. A sample story is below.

No one believes seniors . . . Everyone thinks they are senile.

An elderly couple was celebrating their sixtieth anniversary. The couple had married as childhood sweethearts and had moved back to their old neighborhood after they retired. Holding hands, they walked back to their old school. It was not locked, so they entered, and found the old desk they’d shared, where Jerry had carved I love you, Sally.

On their way back home, a bag of money fell out of an armored car, practically landing at their feet. Sally quickly picked it up and, not sure what to do with it, they took it home. There, she counted the money – fifty thousand dollars!

Jerry said, We’ve got to give it back.

Sally said, Finders keepers. She put the money back in the bag and hid it in their attic.

The next day, two police officers were canvassing the neighborhood looking for the money, and knocked on their door. Pardon me, did either of you find a bag that fell out of an armored car yesterday?

Sally said, No.

Jerry said, Shes lying. She hid it up in the attic.

Sally said, Don’t believe him, hes getting senile

The agents turned to Jerry and began to question him.

One said: Tell us the story from the beginning.

Jerry said, Well, when Sally and I were walking home from school yesterday ……

The first police officer turned to his partner and said, Were outta here!

Photographer Spent Days Waiting For Museum Visitors To Match The Artworks They Observe,
And it Was Worth It!

While most of us visit art museums to see art (duh, right?), others, like France-based photographer Stefan Draschan,
are there to create
their own pieces. And Stefan does it by camping in galleries for days, waiting for visitors who perfectly match the artworks they observe.

His photo series is called “People matching artworks,” and seeing it at first you might get an impression that it’s all staged. But the artist reassures that these perfect shots are actually achieved using patience, and a ton of it.

TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS OF THE CITY OF SAN JOSE

Bellarmine point guard Quinn Denker wore these Kobe Bryant shoes Tuesday night for his team’s game against Valley Christian, with inscriptions in honor of his basketball hero and Bryant’s 13-year-old daughter, Gigi, who died in a helicopter crash Sunday. Bellarmine won in a rout and Denker played only a little more than a half. But unbeknownst to him, he finished with 24 points, to match Bryant’s jersey number.
